Vice President, Premium Services, Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Ellen Saul has been a part of the Indianapolis events and sports scene since 1989, currently serving as Vice President of Premium Services at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), home of the Indianapolis 500. Since 2014, Ellen and her team have been responsible for the service of suites, hospitality, clubs, and special events for events occurring at the iconic venue; INDYCAR and IMS credentials; and concessions and premium catering. Ellen brings her customer-focused, direct, collaborative, family-style, optimistic leadership approach to IMS and strives to ensure her team is the best in the industry.
Prior to joining IMS, Ellen worked for Maribeth Smith & Associates (MBSA), a consulting firm specializing in special events and project management. She stayed with the firm for 19 years, serving as president from 2003 to 2014. At MBSA, Ellen organized and oversaw every aspect of large-scale events including national and international conventions; NCAA events including the 1997, 2000, and 2006 NCAA Final Four Men’s Basketball Championship Host Committee activities; not-for-profit galas and fundraising events; and corporate meetings. For the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis, Ellen was a member of the Host Committee and coordinated The Huddle, one of the premier fan engagement experiences.
Ellen is actively engaged in the Indianapolis community and serves on the boards of Visit Indy, 500 Festival, Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, Markey’s Rental & Staging, and the Indianapolis chapter of WISE (Women in Sports & Events), and the 500 Festival. She is a native of Bloomington, Indiana, and graduate of Indiana University. Ellen lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Vince, and two kids, Anna and Jimmy.
