Art Basel Miami Beach is not a place where brands go to blend in. It’s where the world’s most culturally attuned tastemakers gather: artists, collectors, curators, and creative power players who can spot inauthenticity from across a gallery. So when Lexus wanted to close out its 2025 Ambiance program with a bold cultural statement, the bar wasn’t just high. It was hanging on a white wall with a price tag and a waiting list.
Czarnowski partnered with Lexus to transform the 22nd Street beachfront into the Ambiance Beach Club, a two-part immersive activation that lived as two distinct experiences within a single environment. By day, it was a vibrant social destination: shaded lounges, live DJs, curated cocktails, and interactive art installations that invited discovery and conversation. By night, it became something else entirely. The beach club gave way to Crafted by Kwame, an intimate, multisensory dining experience hosted inside a glowing Lexus-branded cube, featuring a four-course dinner by James Beard Award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi, structured around the Japanese philosophy of Omotenashi.
The results spoke clearly. The activation was named one of the Top Activations at Art Basel Miami Beach. Among attendees, 88% rated the experience four or five stars. 83% reported a more positive perception of Lexus. And 68% said they were more likely to purchase a Lexus following their visit.
Submitting Organization: Czarnowski
There’s a version of a brand activation at Art Basel Miami Beach that plays it safe: slap a logo on a lounge, pour some champagne, call it culture. The Lexus Ambiance Beach Club was not that version.
The Challenge
Art Basel Miami Beach is one of the most creatively saturated environments in the world. Galleries, installations, and exclusive gatherings compete for the attention of an audience that is, professionally speaking, impossible to impress. For Lexus, the challenge wasn’t just visibility; it was credibility. The brand needed to show up not as a sponsor, but as a genuine participant in the cultural conversation. The activation had to embody Lexus’ philosophy, “The Standard of Amazing,” without defaulting to product-forward marketing in a room full of people who would immediately see through it.
The Concept
Czarnowski’s answer was an experience engineered to evolve. The Ambiance Beach Club occupied the 22nd Street beachfront and operated as two fundamentally different experiences stitched seamlessly into one continuous environment.
During the day, the space functioned as a relaxed yet intentional cultural destination. Shaded lounge areas created natural gathering nodes. Live DJs set a tone that was energetic without being intrusive. Immersive art installations were integrated throughout, inviting guests to engage rather than simply observe. Curated cocktails anchored moments of pause and connection. The overall effect was an environment that felt less like a brand footprint and more like a place guests actually wanted to be, which, in this context, is the hardest thing to build.
As evening arrived, the transformation was dramatic and deliberate. The beach club gave way to Crafted by Kwame: an intimate culinary experience set inside a glowing, architecturally striking Lexus-branded cube. James Beard Award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi, Lexus Culinary Master, orchestrated a four-course dinner built around Omotenashi, the Japanese principle of anticipatory, emotionally attuned hospitality. Every element, lighting, plating, narrative, pacing, worked in concert to create a multisensory journey that expressed Lexus’ commitment to craft not through product specs, but through lived experience.
Innovation & Immersive Impact
What distinguished the Ambiance Beach Club wasn’t any single feature; it was the architecture of the full experience. The decision to design for transformation, building a space capable of holding two entirely different emotional registers within the same footprint, is a genuinely sophisticated approach to immersive venue design. The glowing cube served simultaneously as a visual landmark, an intimate dining room, and a brand storytelling device, proving that a single structure can carry significant experiential weight when the concept is strong enough.
Results
The numbers validate the vision. Named one of the Top Activations at Art Basel Miami Beach, the experience earned an 88% four-or-five-star satisfaction rating among attendees. 83% left with a more positive perception of Lexus. Most strikingly, 68% reported increased likelihood to purchase a Lexus, a meaningful conversion signal from an event that was never overtly about selling cars.
